We recommend hydrating moisture-rich products with smoothing properties to maintain softness and reduce frizz for the health of natural hair and raw extensions. Here are some of our favorite products
Proper hair maintenance is essential for preserving hair health, longevity, and overall appearance. At Unwrapped Beauty, our education-led approach helps clients maintain healthy hair through expert guidance and consistent care routines.
Burmese Texture
Pre-Installation
For optimum softness and curl integrity, soak your bundles 15–20 minutes in lukewarm or cool water mixed with TRESemmé Flawless Curls Conditioner, keeping rubber bands intact.
This deep-conditioning bath hydrates and defines the curls for a silky, tangle-free finish.
No shampoo needed — simply rinse thoroughly and air dry.
Color
ONLY DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL COLORIST
Use Color shampoo that targets the color you have for Maximum hydration and results. For Blondes/Brunettes: Matrix Brass Off Shampoo, Conditioner and Leave-In.
For all other colors: Biolage Color Last shampoo and condition. For Added Shine dp HUE Gloss Glaze
Daily and Bedtime Care:
Daily: Use Hydrating spray for moisture and shine.
BedTime: Finger detangle each braid by pulling the loose hair away from the braid. Apply moisturizer and plait if needed. Use a satin scarf/bonnet or satin pillow case to reduce frizz and dryness.
Shampoo/ Condition Maintenance

Section Hair: Divide hair into 4-6 sections before shampooing (recommended in the shower).

Detangle: Use fingers to gently pull hair away from each braid, brush to remove knots. Always start detangling from the ends, working up to the roots.

Prep Braids: Ensure hair is fully detangled before adding water. Generously rinse hair to remove buildup before shampooing.

Shampoo: Use a downward motion when applying shampoo to avoid tangling. Do not bunch hair together.

Scalp Care: Apply shampoo directly onto the scalp using fingertips.

Condition: Apply conditioner from mid-shaft down. Leave conditioner on for 30 minutes under plastic cap, then rinse thoroughly.

Dry: Pat hair dry with a microfiber towel to reduce frizz.

Bundles: Use leave-in conditioner, curl products, foam and seal with oil; Air dry completely.

Dry Shampoo
When you want to refresh the hair without shampooing, Amika Perk-Up Plus. Spray roots, mid-shaft, and ends. Brush through freshly washed look, no white residue. Perfect for quick refreshes or post-workout days.
Burmese Curly/Kinky Curly Maintenance:

Shampoo & Condition: Use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner with lukewarm or cold water.

Drying: Ensure hair/ braids are completely dry before styling(especially before ponytails).

Daily Hydration: Use a DIY hydrator spray daily: Mix 70% water, 10% leave-in conditioner, 5% jojoba or Argan oil or grapeseed oil, 5% aloe vera gel, 10% Dear mama Moisturizing Milk

Detangling: Finger detangle hair at night.

Frizz Control: Apply anti-frizz foam in the morning.

Defining Curls: Use "The Doux" products exclusively for Kinky Curly hair. Allow curls to dry fully, then finish with Shine Mist.

After Shampoo Care For Braids

Place hair in a ponytail; remove one braid at a time.

Pull loose hair away from each braid with fingers and small comb

Apply hydrating spray to the scalp, roots, and braid length. Next curling product. (Foam and oil if needed)

repeat until all braids are moisturized.

Air dry or diffuse. Use hand dryer on High speed medium heat if needed.

Don’t Do this

Daily Hydration: Lightly mist hair with water or rose water daily to maintain softness and elasticity.

Detangle: Only when moisturized, use fingers or a wide-tooth comb from ends upward.

Frizz Control: Use a lightweight leave-in or curl refresher. Avoid heavy butters or gels that can weigh down grey strands.
STYLING RECOMMENDATIONS – Kinky Straight

Style with low to medium heat only to maintain texture and longevity.

For sleek looks, use a lightweight heat protectant and pass the flat iron slowly in small sections.

For volume, blow-dry on cool or warm while brushing upward.

Avoid heavy oils or creams—use light serums to keep movement natural.
